Oh boy, these September Gospels have been tricky, haven't they? This one is one that can really hit hearers/readers in a sensitive place. I hope you have great conversations around it; it can be done!
This week’s reading features some tough teaching and some gory details. This might be a good opportunity to talk about what you think and remember learning about sin… if you flashback to your CCD days give you at the sound of the words “near occasion of sin” then this week’s conversation is for you. As always, I pray you have great, fun, fruitful conversations.
Our small-group process, called Beta, invites you and a few friends to dive in to the Sunday Gospel Reading. Join us as we discuss each week's Beta on MQOA Sunday, every Sunday at 10:00 and wherever you listen to podcasts!
"Wonderous Stories" Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a special celebration of the scriptures with readings from the children’s lectionary. These readings are brought alive for the children using methods that include drama, and an interactive style.
This reading will take you back to a thousand homilies where you and I were asked “and you… who do YOU say that Jesus is?” It’s a fair question, but not the only part of the reading worth digging into. But no matter how deep you want to go (or not), I pray you’ll have great conversations around this Sunday’s readings!
