As you remember, on Pentecost the disciples were inspired by the Holy Spirit to leave their comfortable upper room and be with foreigners and strangers. Because the Spirit was with them, they were able to understand each other. The good news of God was able to be shared.
We want to invite people to know Christ, first through us and then to enter into a personal relationship with Him. Another way we can witness the power of Jesus in our lives is to take the Pentecost Challenge: At Mass on Sunday, May 19th (around the homily time), I’ll invite you to come to the front of the Altar if you’ve experienced the Holy Spirit active in your life this past year. We want to praise God for this. We will also want to be able to see, in a concrete way, the spiritual growth in our parish.
If Mary, Queen of the Apostles can continue to raise up those whose lives have been touched by God and celebrate that, I am sure that God will continue to send us more and more disciples.
