Parishioners and friends, I’m writing to ask you to donate to Mary, Queen of the Apostles’ Grand Annual collection this October. Our dream is to make this the last-ever Grand Annual collection, and we can do that if you are inspired to give what you can in this fundraising appeal for the parish. This year we’ll learn together about how to become a parish that gives more intentionally, prayerfully, and generously, but first we need your help in this last appeal, where you’ve been so generous before. We’ve come a long way in our first four years as a parish. Thanks to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, we now know what God is calling us to; offering healing and sharing Christ. And God is growing MQOA in so many ways, even in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. Even while we were unable to worship indoors, hundreds of people joined us for Sunday Mass from their cars in our parking lots, from chairs on our lawns, or online. Alpha has not only continued, but multiplied, as have our Beta small groups, in English and Spanish. We’ve added gifted professionals to our staff and are able to pay them a just wage. We’ve been able to pay down our debt significantly and have made many capital improvements and necessary repairs. And you’ll see in our financial report this month that more people are rising up to meet the spiritual, practical, and financial demands of a growing parish. All this, I truly believe, is the work of the Holy Spirit, through the generosity of you, the members and supporters of this parish. Mary, Queen of the Apostles is a parish you can be proud to belong to, invite others to, and to support. We want to fully fund our operating budget so that we can become a parish that’s famous for our generosity, a parish that always connects our financial decisions to our beliefs. We’re building a future where the stories you tell others about this parish will be amazing, and each person associated with MQOA can feel ownership over the great work we will do in the community and the world. We’ve come so far, and know that we have so far to go, under the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. We believe God has big things in store for us, and we can’t wait to see our parish grow and love our neighbors in new ways that show God’s grace and offer the healing of Christ. God is opening our eyes to the needs of our Church and our community. We are asking you to be a part of this mission and support this work prayerfully and financially. Please give what you can. You can send a check in the mail with the enclosed envelope, or put it in the collection basket at Sunday Mass, starting on Sunday, October 3. You can also give quickly and easily online at www.MQOA.org/donate. If you have any questions about this appeal or the mission of this parish, please contact us. I thank God every day for your generous support of Mary, Queen of the Apostles! Peace, Fr. Murray
